Podcasting 101 (Channel [Zero], Indie Redux, Requiem's Electro Sounds, & The Eclectic) [UPDATED POST]

3 STEPS TO MAKE A PODCAST

#1. CREATING A PODCAST - Creating a podcast is actually easy, but time consuming if you don't know what you're doing, and if you have a regular 9 to 5 job and a social life that keeps you preoccupied. If you're a Mac user like myself, Apple makes it really easy to create audio and video podcasts through software like Garageband and iMovie. These programs are very user-friendly. However, I recommend watching the video tutorials so learn quickly how to use Garageband and iMovie.

#2. CREATING A FEED FOR YOUR PODCAST - Here comes the pain-the-ass part of podcasting. iTunes and other podcasting sites requires a URL for your podcast. Basically, this means setting up a direct feed from your podcast to iTunes. Now, this is a lot trickier than it sounds. Unless you know HTML and how to create a website with enough memory storage to hold your podcast, you're going to have to find a webhost to do this for you. There are free web host sites out there, but they have miminum storage space. Therefore, if you really want to put your podcast on the world wide web, you're going to have to pay for a web host that has more storage space like GoDaddy.com or Geocities to host your podcast.

#3. HOSTING YOUR PODCAST - Yeah, I haven't reached this step yet cause I'm too cheap to pay for a website to host my podcast...haha. If you know of any free sites with a lot of storage space, please let me know. For the time being I'm going to use Megaupload. I'm going post a link to the following compilation mixes I put together that you can download for FREE. Check out the album covers below...

...the album covers were created but Keo Design.

Now, Channel [Zero] is my trip hop/alternative mix album. Indie Redux is my indie rock and indie hip hop mix album. Requiem's Electro Sounds is my electro/dance mix album. And we're still working a album cover for my eclectic mix album of all my favorite genres of music entitled The Eclectic.

Later, I'll post my first mix up today from the Channel [Zero] series entited Episode #1 - Reinvented. I'm hoping to have a mix up every other week on my blog. So please tune in every week or every other week for a FREE download. Thank you and enjoy!
