The Go! Team - Proof of the Youth

Released last month on the indie label Sub Pop, the Go! Team's new album Proof of the Youth is not a far stretch from their first album. Their sophomore album is a continuation of Thunder, Lightning, Strike with the formulaic sampling of dozens upon dozens of songs from the 70s and 80s. Blending genres like Funk, R&B, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Disco, the band's producer Ian Parton maintains the same old school sound with a new school vibe within the beats and arrangements. Where the album lacks in studio production, the band definitely makes up for it with their live performances. If you're looking for a fun time, I recommend going to see the Go!
